AN APOLOGY: I’m sorry. A while ago somebody from Gravitate Cycles put a post up on here of a bike for sale. My recollection of the situation was it wasn’t immediately obvious that the post was from somebody from the bike shop - I recall clicking on the profile of the poster to discover that they had a vested interested through their employer details - and I think I called them out on it. Or something else. I can’t remember exactly what happened to start things off but it did turn in to a back and forth between me and the original poster pretty quickly. We both locked horns. I trolled. He took the bait. It wasn’t my finest hour, nor, I suspect, his. Thankfully he deleted the original post before all but a few of us saw the early hours finale. Unfortunately it seems that I alienated members of a popular and respected bike shop from the group. I should have taken a different approach. Sorry dudes. My bad. A CLARIFICATION: All items for sale should go on the buy and sell page. If you are a MTB business and post an item, or list of items, on the buy and sell page then I welcome that providing it isn’t spammy. I’m not going to put a time frame on what is spammy but we all know the difference between somebody taking the mick and somebody just putting something out there. If you are a MTB business providing a service then I think it is fair enough for you to introduce yourself here when you start out, or when you join, or when you get around to it. Lay you cards, and services, on the table. If you do get interest it would probably be best for you to provide an email address / contact details and continue business discussions on a 1:1 basis rather than in the group. Given the fact we get many new members every day it would be reasonable to expect you to mention your business name occasionally in related conversations providing that isn’t all you are doing here. I hope that is a reasonable position as it took a long time to write and even longer to find the cute photo. I hate cats.
