AN ARMY OFFICER WRITES ANOTHER LETTER HOME FROM CHIBOK: Dear Brother, In our fight against Boko Haram I was requested by General Ehud Goodluck Jonathan, and of course accepted, to partner with Battalion M of d U.S Army who are 2 help us #BringBackOurGirls, & it will suffice 2 describe 3 of them to u. Captain George Bush-CAPTAIN, mind u, who was never lieutenant, just mysteriously captain-is enormously tall, enormously thin, with great flowing mustaches & a leather belt 6 inches wide. He wears whatever comes to hand, including a jacket which once served d Iraqi army, for he says he took it from Saddam Hussain he hanged in Bagdhad. Taciturn, mean-spirited, grimly silent when reproved, he stalks about like an avenging angel, taking orders from no one & always wanting 2 lead his men off to some foray under his own direction. In d Nigerian army he would not last through d sunset of d 1st day. His chosen assistant, lieutenant perhaps, but without rank, for d Americans care little about such distinctions, is a slight young man of no more than 30, although he claims 48. I know him only as Obama, but he is unforgettable: half-caste, wiry, handsome, rapacious & with d brightest sharp eyes. He never smiles, just looks right through you, d other men consider him d best soldier of d lot. What makes him stand out more than anything else is that he wears a garment they called in these parts an agbada, a flowing gown of linen which reaches from neck to boot top with no buttons to fasten it en route. And when he walks about our camp d agbada makes him look like a lost ghost, for his feet seem scarcely to move under it as he steps. On his 1st day in camp I told him rather sternly: We do not wear clothes like that in this camp, and he replied: I do, & off he waddled, looking as much like a duck that I had no further desire to discipline him. The 3rd American is like no one uve ever seen. He calls himself Clinton, & his hobby no one can tell me, least of all he. When I asked, he said: People get finicky if I play with Monica.
