AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE CONCERNING HUNGRY GAMER. As many of you - TopicsExpress

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE CONCERNING HUNGRY GAMER. As many of you know (but in case you didnt), every other Thursday, we have an off-campus meeting at The Hungry Gamer. For the clubs convenience, we rent the establishment out at a group rate of $50 per hour. Our standard three hour meetings are three hours, so we pay $150 per meeting, which gives us unlimited use of all video game stations, including the projection room, for the entire duration of our meeting. Normally, HG customers pay per hour for each individual station that they use. We are able to pay for this through regular contributions from the club members that show up. If just fifteen people show up, they would only need to contribute $10 each to completely fund the full meeting. And that averaged cost goes down drastically for each extra person to show up. That said, members that go to meetings ARE NOT required to pay, and if they do decide to contribute, they may give however much they are willing/able to give. Any amount is appreciated. What Im trying to say is, we PAY to PLAY. We are supporting a local business in doing this, but lately, weve noticed a lot of members representing our club regularly showing up to these meetings, and proceeding to join in on the video games with no intention nor concern of contributing to our bill. As stated before, members are NOT required to pay if they are not able to afford giving away funds. But weve had an increasing number of issues in the past where we have not been able to foot the bill, even though weve had a very high member turnout on certain occasions. We usually get anywhere from 20-35 people coming to these meetings, This could drop the averaged contribution per member anywhere from $7.50 to just over $4. Dont forget this is paying for an entire meetings worth of unlimited games, with enough space to accomodate everyone. There have been a couple of times where we have cut the cost rather close, and other times where we were only able to fit the bill after one or two members gave a rather generous amount. The owner and operator of HG has been kind enough to finagle the cost when were not able to pay the full bill, which we have been very grateful for, but this will usually result in stations not being available to us, or shorter meeting times. We dont want to have to deprive anyone of their full experience of being with each other, making new friends, and being able to play the games that we all love. If you are planning to attend Thursday meetings at the Hungry Gamer, PLEASE keep in mind that you are supporting a business, and helping your fellow gamers get the opportunity to be a part of this awesome environment. The officers of Gamers at Texas State are dedicated to making sure that everyone is able to have fun, and we just kindly ask that our members are cooperative and aware! Last nights meeting had a great turnout, and it seemed like everyone had a lot of fun!! Smash Bros 4 will definitely be making another appearance at the next HG meeting, and theres a huge possibility that it will appear during Monday meetings as well!! PS. There is a meeting this upcoming Monday!!! Hope to see everyone there!!!
