AN OPEN LETTER TO NIGERIANS: CAN BUHARI MAKE A CHANGE ?? My fellow Nigerians, First, accept my congratulation for making it to dis year 2015. My prayer is that we shall all see year 2016 IJN. We have taken hasty decisions in d past and d effect of dis hasty decisions is d retrogression our nation is going thru right frm d period of our independence . When Buhari/Idiagbon took over govt thru military coup, I remember how we all trooped into d street celebrating d overthrown of civilian govt of Shagari...dis is a product of our hasty decision. And I am sure we later regretted that. When Buhari govt was overthrown by IBB thru another military coup, I also remember how many of us were also jubilating, bcos we felt Buhari reign was too hash for us to cope wit. Another product of hasty decision. And today we are also regretting it, hence some of us are saying Buhari must come back. A Yoruba adage says A person that will give u cloth to wear, it is d one he wears that u must look at To me, if we actually need change like APC mbr are saying, d change shld not b change of govt., but change of personality. Change of personality to me, means bringing someone who can convert our wealth into industrialisation of our nation. Honestly speaking, I dont see Buhari as a person who can convert our wealth for something that cld b of benefit to us. History has it that Buhari has never in his entire life engaged in any business. Ordinary pure water manufacturing business that involves small amount of money to start, he has never established one in his entire life. Information has it that the only thing Buhari knows how to do, is going to Mosque to learn fundamental aspect of d Koran. Remove pension from Buharis life, he will surely not b different frm an Almajeri bcos he has never been an industrious person who can use d resources available to him to create wealth. If d northerners present somebody like Dangote, I will see him as d kind of alternative or change that we need and so I will gladly vote for him bcos Dangote has proven to us that he is an industrious prs and good manager of wealth, thus, a prsn who can convert our wealth to industrialisation of our nation. Buhari has never for once, think of how to establish any business that cld help create employment for d Almajeris, so as to put them of d street. He rather prefers assisting d teaching of fundamental Islamic doctrines that cld adversely make monsters out of Almajeris and d Muslim world. No wonder he said in 2011 that no Muslim shld vote for Christian. As a matter of fact, we all voted for MKO Abiola in 1993 bcos we saw him as someone who had proven to us to b an industrious prs and a manager of wealth, which credentials we hope MKO wld bring into d governance of our nation, if made d president. So it baffles me when some pple are seeing Buhari who has proven to us not to b an enterprising and or industrious prs and who has never been a good manager of wealth but manager of religious bigotry, as d kind of change we need. Pple shld not b deceived about d fake campaign of APC that Buhari is coming to fight corruption. If anybody tells u that Buhari will fight corruption, kindly ask d prs dis question; Wld Buhari stop Tinubu from enriching himself thru Lagos State govt money ?..wld he also stop Atiku or Amaechi from eating fat frm govt money ???..if Buhari wld not b able to stop any of dis prs, then u shld know that d campaign of Buhari coming to end corruption is just d trick by APC to lure u into getting ur vote. In my final analysis, if Buhari is telling us that he will move our nation into d league of industrialised nations, he shld first tell us how he has used his little resources to move his immediate family into d league of local industrious men in d north not to talk of in Nigeria as a whole like d MKOs and Dangotes of d world....To me, Buhari is only fit to b a religious leader and not a businessman. We must take note of d fact that d act of governance is business on its own and Buhari is not a businessman, but a religious man. Lets think deeply dis new year so that we do not take hasty decisions that we have taken in d past that have drawn us backward. We shld b careful so that we will not jump from fry pan into fire...D CHANGE slogan shld not b taken as change of party, but change for better personality and I dont see Buhari as having d credentials of d kind of prs we need to rule dis nation. Like I said, let d Northerners present somebody like Dangote and see if he will not enjoy our votes like MKO did some yrs ago......Say no to an un-industrious man as president of Nigeria !!!Happy Nu year. Yours faithfully, Wale Odusola Esq
