AN OPEN LETTER TO THE GREAT AND GOOD PEOPLE OF JOHNSTOWN, PA: Dear Johnstown, Over the last four years, it has been my good fortune and a true blessing to be able to research and interpret your amazing history. Over the last four years, thanks to the friendliness of the people, I have come to feel like an adopted son of Johnstown, rather than a stranger. Over the last four years, I have come to be able to navigate Johnstown-no easy feat-and enjoy its many eateries; they know my order at Coney Island now before I even say anything. Three-hundred and sixty four days a year, Ive got your back Johnstown. I think Johnstown is a great city and I hope and pray everyday that my career in the National Park Service allows me to keep on telling Johnstowns great story; that I wont have to move away. Many say Johnstown is dead; I say Johnstown has what it takes to make a big comeback-no matter what blows it has suffered, its always come back. With that said though, tonight my loyalties must reside with my hometown of Clearfield, PA. So, go Clearfield, beat Johnstown tonight! Two great cities that mean so much to me, but Clearfield is my first home and my first love.
