AN OPEN LETTER TO THE HEADS OF, AND THE POWERS THAT BE, AT FACEBOOK.COM: Im leaving your site as of 01/01/15 because of the fact that you have decided to sell-out your patrons by allowing the blatant spying-on of them, by any and all U.S. Federal Govt. agencies (as per your new T.O.S. agreement, to be dated Jan 1, 2015). Yes, you, Facebook, are allowing the Orwellian dream to come true, while at the same time, showing complete disregard for the people that have helped build and nurture your corporation to begin with. (US) You might counter that, by saying, Well, soon ALL of the websites on the internet are going to have this same sort of policy, and that we will be spied on by those websites anyway; and that we might as well get used to it... and to that I would say to you, But in order to prevent that from happening, it takes the initial actions of companies like yourselves (well, the dedicated ones anyway) who have the balls to take a stand and make it clear to these agencies that we (the people) will not tolerate that sort of behavior FROM them, and that we (the people of this nation) still believe in the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and that George Orwells prediction /warning needs to be taken heed of.. TODAY, more than ever before. But I guess thats not in your best interests.. now is it? Then perhaps we, your customers, are not in your best interests either. What youre doing, basically, is furthering the violations that such people as Eric Snowden and Bradley Manning have fought so hard to expose and get rid of within the Federal government. When you place Government intervention above the people, corporate power and money over human rights & the power of the people, you turn away from the humanistic side all-together, and I thought that was what your site was supposed to be all about. Youre traitors who are choosing to destroy the freedoms within this country. How sad for you.
