AN UNSAVOURY VISITOR Apart from the beautiful moments, there - TopicsExpress

AN UNSAVOURY VISITOR Apart from the beautiful moments, there were unsavoury moments too! During the process of the debate, there was a guest who occupied a seat in the left side of the gallery. Prime Minister expressed his disappointment with the conduct of this individual during the debate. I counted some six times, during the presentation of the member for Castries South-East [Guy Joseph] when notes were passed between this guest and the member. Guiding him with what to say and how to say it, when to say it. He is a stranger and should not be involved in the business of the House. It was very disrespectful and against the rules of the House. The Prime Minister also expressed is disappointment that the guest involved in the House exchanges and spoke back to members of the Government when points were made, or they engaged in banter with the Opposition. That is unacceptable. Everyone must honour and respect the traditional rules of this honourable House. These unsavoury practices should not be allowed. When I used the word coach, some found it offensive, but coaching should not be tolerated in the House. ~Closing Statement by Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Kenny D. Anthony.
