ANALYSIS OF THE LILLIANS VS HOT POOL GAME As one of our policies we arrived in Jinja in time, had lunch and set off for Lillians Pool Club. We practiced on their table for almost an hour but the table wasn’t easy to get used to. From the left hand side of the baulk line, the cushion bends the ball or balls awkwardly. The centre of the table slows the object balls even if you go real slow hence creating a foul. The game started with Ernest Karara taking on Alpha Mpapyo who happens to be Lillians top scorer. Ernest wins the break and wins a beautiful game on a very confusing table. Wasike Paul gets on and takes on Ssebi Onito and wins the break, wins the game with lots of precision. Adam Sebbi gets on and takes on Mutebi Ismail, wins the break and always torments his opponent by winning the game with ease. Kim Kirunga comes on, takes on Martin Hitiman and fails to win the break but with one thing on mind the captain wins with lots of ruthless moves and the opponents succumbs to the pressure and lets go of the game. Alas (4-0)! Nathan B. Safari comes on, wins the break against Ronnie Lugolobi but unfortunately with the opponent still having 5 balls on table and Nathan going for the black ball, pots both balls and losses the game. (4-1). All in all the best weekend performers were Ernest Karara and Adam Sebbi who got four wins. Ernest getting 2Bs and 2Cs and Adam getting quadruple Bs. The highlight moments were Ernest coming from a snooker position and uses the corner pocket so that he hits the cue ball to get to the black ball which was at the opposite corner pocket, what a confident shot Ernest. Keep it up and am very proud of you. Adam Sebbi gets himself snookered from the exact spot as Ernest’s but he opts for a swerve shot (a Massey shot) and pots the black ball which was set in the opposite corner pocket, well done Adam!! Am proud to name you in my team. All the very best. Both Wasike Paul and Kim (Captain) get two wins apiece. One of the games the captain was went he potted both black and the cue ball. The nature of the table just couldn’t respond to the spin applied to avoid it getting to the corner pocket. The game Paul lost was when his opponent had no option but to hit a lucky shot (JADA). Wasike played three games and won two which was a satisfactory performance. For Nathan B. Safari, it wasn’t a good day in the office for him. He played 3 games and lost them all, the first game he potted both black and white hence losing out, but I pity our next opponent for Mr. Hare will respond accordingly with offensive and defensive tactics. Normal service will be resumed. The most memorable moment was when Bob Trubish replaced his new found cousin Nathan Safari and won us the eleventh game to secure us three precious points. Bob Trubish played a very composed game and did not make unforced errors like he normally does. From the time he found out his cousin, his pool has changed for the better. I hope he maintains the standard. Thanks Bob keep your pool focused, you will definitely make it. Final score Hot Pool Club wins 13-7 as narrated by Kim Kirunga CAPTAIN HOT POOL CLUB
