ANDREW Pete WOOD JR. (May 21, 1950 - December 26, 2014) WOOD, ANDREW, JR., age 64 of Troy for 35 years. Beloved husband of the late Jody K. Wood (nee Ritchie). Dear father of Christopher Wood, Cortney (Jermaine) Burnside and Whitney Wood. 2 grandchildren. Brother of Martha (John) Thompson III. Mr. Wood was a graduate of Bluefield High School in Bluefield, West Virginia and of the West Virginia University from 1968 to 1971 in Morgantown, West Virginia where he received both his bachelors and masters degree. Andrew was also awarded status as an All American football player. He was drafted by the NFL Buffalo Bills as a running back. He played professional football for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the CFL. He also enjoyed golfing. For the last 28 years he was employed as a Health and Safety manager of joint programs with Chrysler Corporation in Warren, Michigan. A gathering of friends will be held Friday, January 2, 2015 from 12:00 noon until memorial at 2:00 pm at St. Marys of Redford Catholic Church, 14750 St. Marys Street, Detroit, Michigan.
