ANGEL LOVE UPDATE!.. by Verity (Headrock Dogs Rescue, Thailand) Angel Love has been with us for 2 weeks now and is putting up a valiant fight against her skin cancer. She no longer seems in pain and the awful tumours haven’t increased in size or depth, infact the smaller ones have got much smaller. Sadly new tumours are growing under her skin but they haven’t yet broken through. She greets us in the morning with a smiling face and a wagging tail and is very happy to be let out of her pen to relieve herself and mix with our other dogs. Her spirits are greatly improved since her first few days with us. She no longer lies in the corner of her pen sleeping most of the time and is always waiting by her gate to be let out and run around. Angel Love is showing no signs of giving up or being incapacitated by her terrible disease. If there is any dried food left over she’s the first to see it and rush over to gobble it down and beware any dog who tries to join her. She’s a bossy little girl and isn’t frightened to bear her teeth and growl if it suits her. Angle Love has lived on the street and probably in a nearby Temple for some considerable time, maybe even all her life and she shows no fear. Thank you to Sam of K9Aid who advised me so painstakingly about the diet Angel Love should be on, the painkillers and antibiotics she should take every day and the creams and ointments her tumours should be treated with. The combination of all these elements are helping this little dog fight to live another day happily and almost painfree. The only time I hear a short cry of pain from her is sometimes when I’m treating her tumours so I must be very gentle. Happily now she lies still when I do this and makes no attempt to run around the pen as she did on the first few days with us.
