ANKARA, Sep 17, 2013: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif co-chaired the 3rd High Level Cooperation Council (HLCC) meeting with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The two leaders exchanged views on promoting economic ties and Turkish participation in the development of Pakistan. They also discussed situation in Syria and post US-withdrawal from Afghanistan. Earlier‚ a contingent of Turkish armed forces presented a guard of honour to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif when he arrived at the residence of Turkish Prime Minister. Nawaz Sharif, while addressing a joint press conference with Tayyip Erdogan after the meeting, termed the meeting “very productive” and said that “there was unanimity of views” between the two sides on various issues of bilateral and regional interest. The two countries also signed a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs). Prime Minister Sharif said he was looking forward to the visit of Prime Minister Erdogan for the 4th HLCC meeting to be held in Pakistan.
