ANNOUNCEMENT: Another call out for help from this group of First Nations women doing an epic walk to Canberra. If many gave a little, it would make a huge difference to their endeavour – it means they can actually eat for starters. What’s this about? As Aunty Susan Rankin says: “We are requesting an audience with the Ministers in Parliament with a list of issues that we are claiming back as the Sovereigns to our homelands and water ways. We have seen enough of the poverty in our communities when the rest of Australia is growing rich on the proceeds of Genocide through the loss of our homelands through real estate and mining.” As well as giving the means to donate funds, the link below has a list of items required if you can help out that way. Also, if there are any journalists who would be willing to write an article supporting the walk, you can contact Aunty Susan directly; a strong spotlight - many spotlights are needed to be shone upon the issues involved for our First Nations people to help create awareness, both in this country and internationally in order to help bring about change. And lastly, it would be wonderful if any kind folks could offer the walkers a nice hot shower in their homes or other suitable venues along the way, especially as there will probably be some cold and rainy times ahead.
