ANOINTED FOR A PURPOSE EXODUS 32:1-2(NKJV) “NOW WHEN THE PEOPLE SAW THAT MOSES DELAYED COMING DOWN FROM THE MOUNTAIN, THE PEOPLE GATHERED TOGETHER TO AARON AND SAID TO HIM, COME, MAKE US GODS THAT SHALL GO BEFORE US, FOR AS FOR THIS MOSES THE MAN WHO BROUGHT US UP OUT OF THE LAND OF EGYPT, WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT HAS BECOME OF HIM. AND AARON SAID TO THEM, BREAK OFF THE GOLDEN EARRINGS WHICH ARE IN THE EARS OF YOUR WIVES, YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS AND BRING THEM TO ME” Aaron was anointed to be a priest over the people of God. In order words he was to act as a custodian of the ordinances of God. He was also the spoke man of God assisting Moses in ruling over the people of God. On this occasion Moses went up the mountain to get the Ten Commandments but delayed in coming. So the people approached Aaron to lead them; but not to lead them in the way of God but by making a god for them. Aaron the anointed man of God was supposed to take a stand for Jesus but he easily fell for the demands of the people. He easily forgot that he was anointed for a purpose. As believers from the day we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour we have become anointed and our anointing is for a purpose. We are to stand firm and defend the faith no matter the situation. When things did not work out as Aaron and the others expected they sought for alternative. As the anointed of God we are to hold firmly what we believe; we should not allow people or situations sway us. Many will try in different ways to push us to do things that will not bring glory to the name of God we must be firmly decline. They will hate you for not doing it their own way; they will call you names and even lie against you if they can, but you must remember that it is not always about them as long as you are in right standing with God whatever they think or say about you is their business. Dearly beloved remember that you are anointed for a purpose. Yes, the world will do everything they can to change our minds and ways, but we must sincerely hold on and wait patiently for the Lord, by so doing God will manifest Himself in our situations and make us living testimonies that others will see and give God the glory.
