If you are an Ace Frehley and a KISS(DYNASTY/UNMASKED fan) the name ANTON FIG should be familiar to you from the credits. Anton Fig was the drummer for Ace Frehleys solo album in 1978, and some of his 80s records. He was also the studio drummer of choice by producer Vini Poncia for the KISS records DYNASTY and UNMASKED. To this day hes still the drummer for the Late Nite With David Letterman show. After Neal Peart and Vinny Appice, Anton Fig is definitely my third favorite drummer of all time. ANTON FIG - IN THE GROOVE is an instructional drum DVD that came out in 1994 where he talks about his playing. The big responsibility to be a very very versatile musician and drummer for the Late Nite show, and how you have to learn almost in no time tunes for artists so you can play them LIVE on the show. He plays with a variety of bands live and variety of styles. I mean this guy can literally play anything from Jazz Fusion, Motown, Rock, Metal...you name it. But his main emphasis is on the SHUFFLE no matter what musical style you play. Theres also a live appearance from ACE FREHLEY and his band playing BREAKOUT live. To me, no matter what instrument you play, This is also a must so you can pic different ideas to bring your musicianship to bigger heights.
