AORI (also known as McLapa, Tony Manero or Anaga) is one of the leading names of the current Brazilian hip hop. Acting as therapper along with Dj Babão at the INUMANOS duo, is winner of the 2006 Award Hutuz, the same year they released their debut album, the critically acclaimed VOLUME DEZ. It is considered a charismatic MC, a born communicator and master the art of improvisation, and participated in jam sessions with international artists such as MOS DEF, WIL SMITH and CHALI TUNA (Jurassic 5). Coming from a family of researchers of black culture, nothing more natural than AORI found its way in hip hop activism. Inspired by Spike Lee and rational mcs, he is been involved in the emergent Rio urban culture. With his retrospect as a fan of comics, cinema and alternative music brought a whole difference to his style of rhyming, soon drawing the attention of more experienced artists like Marcelo d2 (which led the tour of his first album,EU TIRO É ONDA , and since then is a frequent musical partner ) MV BILL and later KLJAY. He has worked with producers like MARIO Caldato Jr. and DISCO D (on the project bilingual rap Braza) Founder of Brutal Crew, a conscious gang, AORI has the mark on his career both projects that help to spread the culture and launching new artists, democratizing access to the microphone. He also created the FREESTYLE the party, the Traditional Battle Royal to the creation of the League of Mcs (The main event of MC battles of the country, which in 2007 led to his first national tour.). This path led him to Washington DC for the African-American-Brazilian Meeting and the other capitals of high cultural effervescence as Buenos Aires, Havana and Kingston. The accumulated experience of its history in hip hop accredits as an expert in urban culture, having held services for companies like RED BULL, NIKE, ECKO and UNIVERSAL. Currently AORI is dedicated to the production of the next album, titled ANAGA.
