APC East London is 100% in support of APC no matter what! Why this - TopicsExpress

APC East London is 100% in support of APC no matter what! Why this statement? A guy called me recently and said now that APC had lost Ekiti election, which party are we going to support? I laughed and said we are 100% APC, even if they loose every election. Of cause, what happened in Ekiti election is enough to punch holes in the confidence of many baby members who are yet to make up their minds. When you are not decided at this point, you are unlikely to be dependable. This shows how many of peoples minds have crumbled because of our poor system. Its very difficult to make change when people want to associate with winners only and fail to look at bigger picture; that is the reason some good people get swallowed up. We still need to open our minds to know that the path to a superior democracy is having different parties and challenges, so we must expect this and other kinds of questions. The road to new political structure has many potholes; well fall into some that are really messy; but we have to climb back and dust ourselves off, refocus, recommit, and keep going until we get it right; then we can begin to grow stronger through our experiences. Once we learn to do that, we wont keep repeating the same mistakes and we can then become politically stable. The loyalty to parties must not stop at Election Day; the whole political manifestos need to be looked at. Election is not yet fair in Nigeria and some people have to help lay the better political structure; the question is, if we continue following parties because they have won, who will instigate the change? Nigeria politics needs restructuring that will allow people to make better choices rather than following the wrong party because of their status. We need to see Ekiti as a bench mark and an important point to restructure our democracy. The problem in Nigeria is that the majority are looking for appointment while only few are looking for development. When you look blindly for appointment and in the wrong place you will end up with disappointment. We need a new heart and a new focus to make our democracy work. We need to find what is not making our democracy competitive and jointly remove them. We live in what is now called political power base economy; it is largely only the party members who get rewards. The big issue is not whether a party wins or looses, but to restructure our political system to give other parties equal chance to compete. Now the APC is significantly expanding and there is more work to do. That’s what APC East London is here for.
