APPLICATION RULES – “Street Food” photo contest 2014 Entries open from 10 April 2014, it’s time to get snapping and send in your photos! The theme is ‘Street Food’ so send your photo of anything that makes you think of ‘Street Food’! The theme is open to your interpretation, get clicking and have fun with it! The winning photo will win a KSh. 8000 voucher! Who can enter? • This competition is open to all Kenyan photographers (you don’t have to be in Kenya) • This competition is open to all ages. Theme The theme for the Photography Competition is ‘Street Food’. Photographers are encouraged to send in their interpretation of this theme. Judging Criteria The photographs will be judged equally on two elements: • aesthetics i.e. “wow factor”, simplicity of theme communication or narrative factor and, • technical quality e.g. sharpness, exposure, colour accuracy etc. Prize • The winning photograph will win a KSh. 8000 voucher • It can be used to buy any photographic equipment at Purple Apple Artwork Specifications • Artwork must demonstrate it has responded to the competition category ‘Street Food’ • Artwork must be original and photographed and edited by the entrant; • The use of editing software is permitted; Only minor burning, dodging and/or color correction is acceptable, as is cropping. High dynamic range images (HDR) and stitched panoramas are NOT acceptable. Any changes to the original Photograph not itemized here are unacceptable and will render the Photograph ineligible for a prize • Photographs can be black and white or colour; Deadline • Entries must be submitted by by 5:00pm (GMT) on Thursday 10 May 2014 • No late entries will be permitted Conditions of Entry • Entry is open to all ages. • Photographers must have the permission of those in the photo (or their parents / guardians if under the age of 18) to enter the photo. • All artwork submitted must be the original artwork by the entrant and not the work of someone else. • The judge’s decision is final, there will be no appeal process. The organiser reserves the right to choose which artwork/s to use and publish. • Entry is free
