ARCHE DES DÉMUNIS ARCHE DES DÉMUNIS is a project with the aim of helping needy people (démunis) beginning with the shelter for orphans and disabled people (…) in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon. Considering the fact that many would like to offer their help but they distrust the methods recommended and the money management, our system is based on the following principle: together we can do so much for them and the outcomes reached by the centre, will be monitored step by step and published in the facebook page https://facebook/ArcheDesDemunis/ . Arche des démunis offers its help in thre ways. Firstly through a fundraising. The amount of money is from 5 to 10 € per person, or even more if someone is glad to do that. The total of accounting operations will be visible on the facebook page, that is every euro given will be published. The fundraising will last two months from the 17th of June until the 17th of August. The payment methods are three: transfer to a bank account; postpay for people in Italy and paypal for those abroad. A committee in Yaoundé will monitor the whole process, from the donation to the practical use of the sum collected, and it will employ this sum according to the necessities of the centre (generally purchase of primary assets, property renovation; hopefully water well construction and so on ). Everything will be filmed, photographed and published in the facebook page. We will communicate the bank coordinates close to the start date of the charity campaign. The second modality consists in the collection of clothes, toys and food. It will begin after the 17th of August, that is after the end date of the fundraising, and it will come to pass in Perugia, Bologna and in the surroundings of these two cities. We have not already established its end date, the stockpile will last until the responsible for the container, using to transport the items, sent a date of return to Cameroon. The third and last form of help, still in process of organization, is for people who decide to spend some time in the centre as volunteers. Professional qualifications are not required. We accept everybody, from medical personnel to kids animator. Nevertheless a little bit of humility is required. The journey means above all knowledge, learning and personal growth for the volunteer. We are not an NGO. Arche des démunis is the idea of a group of people from Italy and Cameroon that decided to join together in order to help people who find themselves in extremely precarious situations and/or are not self/sufficient. The following video shows the first shelter on which we will work. It is a small building in Yaondé housing orphans and disabled people. Our aim is to extend our support to other centres dealing with paupers that often lack the means of subsistence to take care of them.
