The incumbent will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic research environment and contribute to empowering Canadian financial consumers and promoting responsible financial market conduct. About Us The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) Research Division conducts research and leverages external studies to identify emerging trends and issues, inform program and policy development and equip the Government of Canada with evidence-based ways it can better inform and protect consumers of financial services and products. With educational materials and interactive tools, FCAC provides objective information about financial products and services to help Canadians increase their financial knowledge and confidence in managing their personal finances. FCAC also makes sure that federally regulated financial institutions, payment card network operators and external complaints bodies comply with legislation and industry commitments intended to protect consumers. Qualifications Qualifications We are looking for a self-starter with the following qualifications and abilities/competencies: • Experience or interest in completing literature reviews, analytical studies and/or research papers • Knowledge of statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS, STATA) • Knowledge of quantitative research methods • Strong written and oral communication skills • Team player, attention to detail, initiative • Research skills Level and Years of Study Masters or PHD students Educational Background Social Sciences such as: Economics, Public Affairs, Psychology, Sociology or other relevant field.
