ARF of MS had been working on this particular location for quite awhile in finding a group to come and help with the rescue of these dogs and the busting of the people responsible for fighting them. We were so blessed when we reached out to Animal Rescue Corps a few weeks ago when they agreed to come down and spearhead the rescue. ARC worked hand in hand with the Humphreys County Sheriff office in the bust of this fighting ring and confiscation of the animals. This bust is particularly heartwarming because these animals will not be euthanized because of their breed, their training and former use. All are in Nashville where they will be rehabbed, vetted and homed. Yesterday, I (Pippa Jackson, Director of ARF of MS) was able to participate in helping with the bust and rescue of these dogs and what a glorious day it was. These dogs will never have to fight to live again. They are all safe, the bad guys are in jail and enough evidence was collected for a swift prosecution.
