ARKANSAS WINTER WEATHER ALERT: Hello everyone please take time to read this.. Ive been talking for a week now long before most people of the possibility of winter weather in the Natural State Sun-Tue. Most models are digging the Low Pressure deep into the Gulf of Mexico which will take a lot of the heavier precip farther South and West of the State. HOWEVER there are some models in particular the GEM which has been VERY consistent in its data output that has a farther Northerly track of the Low bringing heavy precip will into the State and interacting with fridgid weather. If this is the case a quick but pretty potent winter weather event would occur. Significant Icing would have the potential to cause travel problems and even some power outages. This would not be a long lasting event probably just 6-7hrs but it would be pretty potent. AGAIN this is not my forecast but it is still in the realm of possibilities. Most of the other models keep any significant Ice confined to Western and SW AR. We will have to watch this closely!
