ARSENAL FAIL AT HOME Arsenal threw away three points as they drew 3-3 with Anderlecht after leading 3-0 at one stage of their UEFA Champions League tie. The home side were under some early pressure when Conte sent a ball through to Cyriac, who in turn set up Kljestan, but the Americans strike was saved thanks to superb athleticism from Szczesny between the sticks. The Gunners threatened to break the deadlock in the 22nd minute. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain pulled the ball back for Alexis Sanchez who thrashed it at goal, only to see it rattle the woodwork and go behind for a goal kick. Two minutes later Arsene Wengers troops managed to win a penalty. Danny Welbeck was brought down unfairly in the box by Mbemba and the referee didnt hesitate to award the spot kick. Mikel Arteta stepped up and slotted it to give the hosts the lead. Arsenal were two goals clear only four minutes later. Sanchez won a free kick just outside the Anderlecht area and took the dead ball shot himself. The initial strike came off the wall, but he smashed the rebound home to double the lead. Oxlade-Chamberlain put the hosts well and truly in control in the 58th minute as he made it 3-0. Sanchez took the ball from Kljestan, allowing his teammate to power towards goal and slot the finish. Two quickfire strike from Anderlecht put them back in the game after the hour mark. In the 61st minute, Anthony Vanden Borre made it 3-1 as he netted from Kawayas cross. The same man was at it again in the 73rd minute. Vanden Borre slotted a penalty after Monreal brought down Mitrovic in clumsy fashion to concede the spot kick. Disaster struck for the Gunners in the 90th minute. A great cross from Najar found Mitrovic who sent the ball into the top corner with a stylish diving header to salvage a point.
