Phil has been a behind-the-scenes shaker and mover as a band member (Emmylou Harris; Her Red Dirt Boys, Buddy Miller, The Phil Keaggy Band) and session musician/songwriter (Alison Krauss, Mat Kearney, Old Crow Medicine Show, Buddy Miller, Garth Brooks, Toby Keith, Daniel Amos, Amy Grant, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, The Civil Wars, Julie Miller, The Band Perry, and many more). When an artist, such as Phil, shares his passion with the world, legacies begin to form. Phil has held on tight to his inner vision throughout the years. His roots and faith have molded and formed the man he is today. This is apparent through his life-work. He is currently doing a crowd funding campaign for his new venture, Mercyland, Hymns for the Rest of Us. Phil states, But as far as I wanted to get away from religious music, I couldnt shake the idea of that old childrens song Jesus Loves Me, and that remains at the core of what I believe.
