REMIX)* *Digital bonus track Next on Billy Nasty’s Electrix label comes a release from Sync 24, comprising two new cuts from the Cultivated Electronics / Scand man, alongside remixes from The Exaltics, Carl Finlow and Fleck E.S.C, ready to hit the shops in November. Phil Bolland has been producing music for over 10 years under the guises Cultek, Signal Type and Sync 24. Known for his dark and moody Electro productions, he started out on Andrea Parker’s Touchin’ Bass label and has gone on to release on Solar One, Toytronic, Streetsounds and fabric. Since 2008 he has also run his own label, Cultivated Electronics. With a discography featuring artists like Silicon Scally, Morphology, Scape One, Versalife, J.T.C, Boris Divider and The Exaltics, he has shaped it into a highly respected label, known for pushing quality underground sounds. Not content with this already busy schedule, Phil also runs London’s Scand, a party dedicated to purist Electro. Immediately setting the tone, Sync 24 delivers some classic old school Electro flair on his original tracks, with ‘This Life’ featuring dark vocals and a moodily melodic synth line, while ‘Night Scenes’ has a melancholy emotion sweeping over the cutting beats and deep bass. Grabbing the remix baton first is The Exaltics with their version of ‘This Life’. For many years The Exaltics have flown the flag for underground Electro and sub-aquatic Techno bass. Undeterred by trends the production outfit from Eastern Germany has released on labels like Creme Org, Bunker, TRUST and their own Solar One Music. The legendary Carl Finlow revisits Electrix after his sterling ‘Boot Loop EP’ (ELECTRIX002), released in May, to deliver his own take on ‘Night Scenes’. Carl’s been writing and recording music since 1986 under a number of guises including Random Factor, Silicon Scally and Scarletron on labels including Warp, Playhouse, Trope, Sony, Klang, Arista, Soma, SCSI, Pagan, Seventh Sign and Satamile. As an exclusive bonus for the digital release, Fleck E.S.C (French born, Tokyo resident, Franck Collin) provides another remix for Electrix after his reworking of Carl Finlow’s ‘Hashtag’. This time he’s all over ‘This Life’, as usual drawing on his many influences including horror, science fiction and B-movies which provide a love of cheap retro sounds and an unpretentious outlook.
