AS I contemplate what will happen if civil society is disrupted in some kind of crisis regardless of its origin. I think how could we build a more stable society less prone to catastrophic failure and more sustainable. Call it sustainable communities! Let us look at where we are. We live in a fast food world where my way right away is the norm. This is not a formula for sustainable peace ans security. It is a prelude to violence and destruction on a world wide scale. WE are dependent on our food, water, meds, services, security, shelter and protection for extreme cold and heat are provided by a small handful in comparison with the population. So what happens if they are unwilling or unable to provide them? Millions die in a hurry! But what if like our great great grandparents world most of these were provided by local people who you knew and were a much greater percentage of the overall populace? The risk of mass disruption and thus mass suffering would be greatly reduced. The ability for surrounding communities to help out those who faced catastrophic disruption would be substantially greater as well. Thus stabilizing our critical infrastructure. What if shelters where built with the anticipation that power, gas or other forms of energy could suffer disruption. Well designed Underground or ICF and buildings for instance could keep you alive and even comfortable with no need for external energy input. Thus reducing the death toll in times of serious power failure dramatically. Not to mention reducing over all dependency and energy usage dramatically. What if large percent or even most of our society had Aquaponic food production integrated into there home or businesses. Not only would the risk of wide spread food poisoning go way down as would the risk of mass starvation and panic. But we would all be much healthier from consuming higher quality REAL FOOD PRODUCTS! And it would taste better! Power could be generated from thousands of smaller systems from stream generators, windmills, etc as a supplement to the big power plants. With systems to isolate them from the larger grid and focus on local emergency power only in the event of major system failure, attacks, etc. I cant help get the feeling in all of our so called wisdom we have built our own house of cards that is about to come crashing down. What can we do? what if the States which still have some common sense started promoting the suggestions above. Funded them with guaranteed loans and established communities on and around the federal controlled lands they arent supposed to own under the constitution anyway! Call it AGENDA 12 THE OPPOSITE OF Agenda 21 instead of concentrating all of us into crowded cities and making us dependent for survival on our new gods. What if we spread out into smaller communities became much more self sufficient diversified our abilities. spread out our industry among the smaller communities reduced our risk of loss from Hail, Wind, fire, tornadoes, hurricanes, earth quakes, and dramatically reduced our need for energy, dramatically reduce the need to continually rebuild from every storm that blows through. So we can keep building on a firmer foundation. Or maybe we should just keep doing what Rome did that led to its collapse and see how many of us survive it? https://soundcloud/user262008952/there-will-be-no-doubt_2
