ASSALAAMU ALAIKUM TO ALL VIEWERS BISMILLAH IR RAHMAN IR RAHIM WHAT IS TAWASSUL ?ask a living person to make doa for you and your family or a pious person It is allowed to make tawassul by asking a living person to make dua on your behalf, if you feel that such a person is a true and righteous person. So, it is permissible to go to a scholar, and say, for example: “O so-and-so! I ask that you make dua to Allaah that He cure my son from such-and-such an illness“ . IS THERE A GREATER WALI THAN THE PROPHET p b u h ? Once, during the caliph of ‘Umar Ibn Al-Khattaab, there was a severe drought that afflicted Madinah. The Muslims, under the leadership of ‘Umar, went outside the city to perform Salaat al-istisqaa, the prayer for rain. After finishing the prayer, ‘Umar said: “O Allaah! we used to perform tawassul through the Prophet (Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam), (while he was alive), and now we will perform tawassul through the Prophet’s (Sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) uncle, ‘Abbaas Ibn Abd Al-Muttalib“. So saying, he commanded ‘Abbaas to make dua to Allaah for rain, and indeed, Allaah responded to his dua, and it rained in Madinah. conclusion ; hazrat UMAR r.a could ask ALLAH TO ACCEPT HIS DOA ON BEHALF OF THE PROPHET MOHAMMAD p b u h but as the PROPHET p b u h passed away , HE ASKED ABDULLAH IBN ABBASS r .a to ask doa ,a living one , not a dead one , said the PROPHET p b u h ; if there would be a prophet after me he would be UMAR r.a ,SATAN NEVER CROSS his way , HE GOT THE GOOD NEWS TO BE ADMITTED INTO PARADISE BY THE MOUTH OF THE BLESS PROPHET p b u h
