ATCHISON GLOBE - LETTER TO THE EDITOR - 9-20-14 - Jeremy Sienkiewicz Dear Members of the Atchison Chamber of Commerce: Let me begin by thanking you for hte work you do to make Atchison a place which no only thrives in business, but also exists as a wonderful place in America to raise a virtuous family. I must distinguish, however, the many virtues of this town from some of the events that are being sponsored by the Chamber for our upcoming Halloween celebration. I am specifically speaking about the following events: The Aura/chakra reading of Susan Proust The Supper with the Spirits and Gatherings of Keli Adams Ghost Hunting 101 and Paranormal Investigations at the Sallie House Each of these events attempts either to experience the power of unknown spirits or to tame them for ones own use. Such activity is foolhardy at best, and gravely evil at worst. Not only is it offensive to the Divine Majesty as well as those who worship Him, but it is dangerous to those involved. Such activity not only can cause physical harm, even death, but can endanger the salvation of an immortal soul. These activities will make Atchhison less safe for he citizens. Furthermore, it will attract a clientele who desire not only to worship dark powers but to serve them. I would hate to see our citizens harmed by someone desiring to serve Satan. I would also hate to see our citizens harmed by Satan himself. Either reality spells danger for the families that call Atchison home.
