ATTEMPTED STOLEN VEHICLE Yuma, AZ – On Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at about 12:04p.m., the Yuma Police Department responded to Circle K, 695 S. 4th Avenue in reference to an attempted stolen vehicle just occurred. The initial investigation revealed the suspect approached the victim while she was pumping gas. The suspect pushed the victim out of the way and got into her vehicle attempting to steal it. The victim’s baby was in the back seat of the vehicle at the time. The victim began to yell for help and a worker in the area ran to help. The worker forced the suspect out of the victim’s vehicle and the suspect walked away. The suspect attempted to steal another vehicle nearby but was unable to. The suspect left southbound on 4th Avenue. Police officers arrived in the area and found the suspect in the 700 block of S. 4th Avenue. The suspect was identified as 41-year-old Julio Jackson. Jackson was arrested and taken toYuma County Detention Center and booked on robbery, attempted kidnapping, two counts of attempted theft of a vehicle and assault.
