ATTENTION COBB COUNTY Veteran Entrepreneurs. A note from my friend Mike . . .Lisa Cupid, the Commissioner for Cobb County District 4, reached out to us at a meeting last week with a thought that our Veteran Owned Businesses should have improved access. There have been a number of meetings by the Braves organization to provide information to vendors on potential business prospects associated with the Veterans Hiring and Multi-Use Development. Given the heightened interest in hiring veterans, Commissioner Cupid thought it might be appropriate and beneficial for our VSOs to reach out to Mike Plant, Director of Operations for the Braves, to include veterans preference in the selection process. We are aware of the pro and cons of such a consideration, but given the unique sacrifices that our troops have given in Iraq and Afghanistan, (we have never had overlapping campaigns of this duration in our history), there might be consideration for such an outreach.
