Location: Miami,FL Looking to hire: 11/17/2013 Interviews: ASAP Salary $55,000-70,000 Will re-locate you if you are not in this area. The Collector Lead is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a collections team while maintaining a designated level of collections by means of payments and guiding denied claims through to payment. This position is responsible for collecting outstanding receivables from insurance companies, patients and physicians. Primary Objective: The primary objective of the Collector Lead position is to maximize the clients claims collections. General Areas of Responsibility: • Achieve or exceed department goals as defined by the department Director • Implements initiatives and strategies to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) • Maximize collections efforts to enhance the overall Accounts Receivable performance • Ensure payment follow-up activities on outstanding patient and insurance accounts • Lead, guide and direct review, revision, re-process and follow-up on all denials • Prepare client request forms Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Excellent working knowledge of insurance carriers payment regulations including various reimbursement schemes, coinsurance and deductibles, and contractual adjustments • Knowledge of Medicare, managed care and commercial insurances • Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance • Knowledge of modifiers and their proper use required • Works with payers to determine reasons for denials, corrects and reprocesses claims for payment in a timely manner • Reduces claims in the over 90-day categories • Mails, faxes or emails all appropriate collections correspondence • Identifies uncollectible accounts and acquires approval for Bad-Debt Write/off • Maintains relationships with insurance companies / clients • Strong interpersonal and communications skills to be able to lead and mentor a team • High attention to detail and the ability to multi-task • Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel Qualifications: • Minimum 3 year of experience in medical collections, Lead role experience a plus • Minimum Education level: High school • Associates Degree from college preferred or Certificate from a technical school for billing/collections • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Analytical skills (knowledge of what your team is working on and how to troubleshoot)
