ATTENTION MY FB PARENTS: DePaul Community Resources is actively seeking new foster care parents for children in need. This is a therapeutic based foster care agency. They fully train families to meet the needs of each child in their care. I have been with this agency for a year and LOVE IT!!! I have had so much support that there is no way to repay their kindness. Now you may be asking, What is the pay? That is a hard question to answer. Not because the pay isnt REALLY GOOD, but that it depends on what issues your child will have, the age of the child, etc. All I can tell you is that I make way more than I could have ever imagined. If you are on disability...no worries---your pay is considered a repayment of services and does not affect your Social Security/SSI. Actually, I will publicly state that I am on both. My pay has never been affected in any way. This income is set up to where you are not even required to submit it to Social Security. I do not view my foster daughter as a pay check. I love her greatly and would do anything in this world to ensure that she knows shes loved, accepted as a family member, and that she is worthy of a long and happy life. She has been in our home since April. I cannot imagine her not in my life. Now does that mean that its been all sugar and spice and everything nice...NOPE, but her life has been hell on earth which means she came to us with a lot of issues. Is she worth going throught the rough patches----OH MY GOODNESS YES!!! This is the type of attitude that DePaul is looking for. If you search your hearts and find that you have enough love for child/another child in your family, please let me know. Actually, there is an event this Sat. at the Coomes Center in Abingdon from 1-4 p.m. This is a Foster Care Appreciation Event but they have decided to allow us the opportunity to bring in prospective foster parents. You will have a chance to ask all the questions you like, find out the ins and the outs of DePauls program/training. All training is provided free of charge and they are willing to work with your family schedule to get it accomplished. Hey guys, its easier than you think....no PHD needed...lol If you would like to attend or would like to set up a different appointment...PLEASE CONTACT ME and we will get you set right up. REMEMBER GUYS...WE HAVE SO MANY CHILDREN FROM VERY YOUNG THROUGH TEENAGE YEARS WHO ARE IN GREAT NEED OF LOVING HOMES. SINCE JOINING THIS PROGRAM I HAD NO IDEA JUST HOW MANY CHILDREN IN OUR LITTLE AREA WHO NEED FAMILIES LIKE OURS. If you would just like to ask me questions ---and feel free to ask tough ones....I promise to shoot it to you straight. I believe in being completely honest concerning my experiences within the program. The only thing I cannot tell you is who my foster daughter is. Her name needs to stay confidential.
