ATTENTION Ventura County SOFTBALL Community! Please help us spread the word. The following was sent to KHAY in an email: My name is Angie, I would like to reach out to you in hopes that you can help me on getting some coverage for a Softball Tournament we are putting on for our Dear friend Armand Rios family. Armand Died the morning of October 2nd, in a fatal car crash at Mussel Shoals on his way home to Ventura. His family was having a hard time covering the expenses to give him the funeral that he so deserved. We, those of us that play softball a few times a week, are a close knit family, and we all lost a brother that morning. We have decided that we cant let our brothers family strain over expenses while they grieve. We are coming together to put on a Benefit Tournament to support them. Here are the details: November 1st- All Mens Tournament from 8-5 at Pershing Park. We will have a Huge Raffle station set up for high priced items, Georgias Smokehouse foodtruck, etc. November 2nd- Men and Womens tournament from 8-8, but these will be at Dwight Murphy and Cabrillo Parks. This day is spread apart a bit but we will be set up at Dwight Murphy Park just outside the Zoos Parking lot entrance. Im not sure if this could be something you can advertise on the radio but it would be great coverage seeing that we are still trying to reach out to the softball community in Ventura to see if they have teams that would like to come play to help support.
