ATTN: Unfortunately we have to be the bearers of some bad news as we just received the following from Fairuza Balks agent: I know its only a few days before the Days of the Dead event, but Fairuza Balk has to cancel coming to the Chicago event. Fairuza has been battling a virus for the last week or so and when it did not change its course she went to the doctor today. The doctor has put her on some strong antibiotics and recommended rest as he does not want it to turn into bronchitis. Fairuza really wanted to come out and even sent me a bunch of extra pictures and posters in the mail to bring with me to the show. Ones that had not been with her at the last show she did 5 years ago. I promise to make this up to the Days of the Dead loyal fanbase by getting Fairuza into another DOTD event, hopefully in multiple cities and back to Chicago next year. We really did wait and wanted to see if she would be up to it but the fight with this virus won out. Fairuza also sent the following statement: I got home from the Dr. He confirmed that I do have a virus and has indeed put me on some heavy antibiotics. I still have the fever. Im not going to be able to make the show and I SO wanted to be there. I wont be in shape to travel never mind the fact that It would not be good to expose everyone to getting sick from me. As disappointing as this news is, DAYS OF THE DEAD fully understands Fairuzas situation and would certainly not wish for her to travel under such conditions. We wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to having her at a future event/s in 2015. We also encourage her fans to send their well wishes via Twitter to @fairuza We apologize to all of the fans this will disappoint and hope that everyone is able to consider her situation first and foremost.
