AUCKLAND LOCAL INTERNATIONAL ECONOMIC POLICY BRIEF I propose the establishment of new international economic agreements with my fellow Mayors in South Korea, Taiwan, Japan and South Africa to secure Auckland new sources of finance. We have a solid relationship with these countries. Their communities are counted amongst the most hard working and law abiding citizens in Auckland; who unfailingly contribute considerably to the cultural richness and rates revenue of our city. Facing a dire cluster of price fixing monopolies, the embedded addiction of profiteering and squandering Aucklanders hard earned wages, and the nagging suspicion that Parliament is stone broke, I am clear that Auckland needs new sources of finance to stop the rot in its tracks. A PUBLIC VOTER DISCUSSION PAPER 29 AUGUST 2013 1. The Auckland Council financial books to opened with the media present. We will be removing the contractual scams, the half-baked crappy investments, the pricing routs, and the overall cronyism that has resulted in the disappearance of the tens of billions of dollars of Aucklands wealth; squandered by naked greed. 2. Where is the money? Where has it gone? Why are we so much in debt? Who is responsible? 3. The Auckland Council multi-billion dollar debt is symbolic of the incompetence that is widespread and spreading to the point that there is no limitation and no stopping the rampant naked greed that is revealing itself to all and sundry. 4. Auckland Council to be reconfigured to promptly remove the current corrupt over-costings and over-spending practices that are creating a self-defeating economic dustbowl in a city of wealth and region of abundance. 5. Auckland Council will be deliberately managed to serve the people of Auckland alone; not themselves, their political party affiliations or their greedy mates. 6. One thing is clear. Heads are going to roll. Lame excuses won’t cut the mustard with me in the slightest. 7. Bottom line. Auckland Council will be strictly performance and ultra fast service delivery based. This is my responsibility and I will take this very seriously. 8. All lower and middle Auckland Council staff members to receive an immediate pay rise with an increase of new staff, resulting in promotions for the talented young and experienced members to new managerial positions. 9. All top Auckland Council staff including myself as Mayor to be judged solely on our ability to perform and deliver to Aucklanders. I will not hesitate to replace anyone not acting honestly. New CEOs to be appointed to meet new demands. 10. International finance secured within weeks of being elected into office ONCE the Auckland Council system and procedures are cleansed of the few corrupted and their unforgivable corruption. 11. From this, Auckland can be transformed into a financially self-supporting, self-sufficient and corrupt free Super City within one year of office; debt free within 3 years. 12. Auckland Council to be fully automated freeing up staff to visit the people of Auckland when a problem arises. My staff will have all the necessary modern gadgets to fix the problem on the spot; not waiting weeks on end for an email. 13. Auckland Council to firmly establish itself as a major commercial competitor to provide much needed competition in the local economy and private sector. 14. Auckland Council to financially invest in our own development and expansion of local primary industry by growing GE-free kai, raising free range agriculture and producing pure aquaculture in our abundant Auckland region. 15. Auckland Council will negotiate with the Mayors north and south of Auckland to foster an inter-regional food production and supply co-operative network that creates a fantastic win-win financial windfall for all the regions involved; a new co-operation of togetherness for achievement. 16. Auckland Council to financially invest in our own development of a world class Eco-Tourism industry to open our wonderful and enriched ecological region to the digital world; making Auckland a massive recreational playground. 17. Auckland Council to create and develop a world class astrological facilities to allow Aucklanders to see the splendor and majesty of the star constellations that guided our shared ancestry to our promised lands; Tamaki Makaurau and Aotearoa. 18. Auckland to become an international local cuisine food market and place of the major cooking competitions in the South Pacific and Australasia. The objective is to develop a fusion of a shared inter-action on the basis of our shared love of eating great food together; Aucklands socializing at its best. 19. Aucklanders to become fiscal shareholders of the Auckland Council. This means that once the weekly overheads, wages and bills have been paid, the remaining amount will be divided up to be deposited as a shareholder dividend; freeing up tax revenue for Parliament to use in other places of need perhaps. 20. Auckland Council will be vigilant in monitoring and actively accounting for the too many over-the-top rip off pricings that greedy people keep creeping higher and higher under the guise of inflation. This day light robbery will stop. 21. Auckland Council as a whole will immediately cease working against the moral responsibility of giving folks a fair go. 22.
