AUSTRALIA IS LAND OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS WANTING TO STUDY MBA PROGRAM AS 30% OF STUDENTS ARE OPTING TO STAY AFTER COMPLETION OF STUDY WITH SEVERAL NEW COURSES TO BE AVAILABLE FOR STUDENT IN 2015 Australia is a land of opportunity Established managers and prospective students from around the world are flocking to Australian business schools, with many choosing to stay in Australia after graduation. Along with China, Australia has sustained good economic growth during difficult times, resulting in opportunities that are presently unavailable in many parts of the world. Philip Kotler, professor at the Kellog School of Management, and author of the well-known book, Winning Global Markets ,offers these words of advice: “Go where the growth is. If you don’t choose to work in China or India, chose one of the 10 ASEAN countries which are showing very high growth and opportunity.” New MBA courses in 2015 The business education market in Australia remains strong, with several new courses available for students in 2015, including the Masters in Business Analytics program at the Melbourne Business School. The University of Western Australia Business School has also launched a full-time MBA course designed to facilitate fast-tracking into careers. The Deputy Dean of UWA Business School, Alison Preston, is encouraged by the move. “The optimism and growth in Western Australia is phenomenal…this is really due to a combination of factors – a strong economy, innovative culture and great lifestyle,” Preston said. Examples include the Australian School of Business, which runs an MBA program in Hong Kong, and the University of Sydney Business School, which partners with Shanghai’s Jiao Tong University to assist Chinese business enterprise in Australia. The vast majority of Australia’s 40 universities have a business school, and around 30% of international students who graduate with an MBA remain in Australia to live and work.
