AVP performing Sam Cookes song Change Is Gonna Come at Hannah Grahams candlelight vigil. This was sang beautifully and gave me chills. Some people miss the significance of this song. This song was influenced by the struggle. More specifically the black struggle in America. Sam Cooke wrote this back in the 1960s after being kicked out of a Holiday Inn in Louisiana for being black. Its sad that this song from the Civil Rights era is still relevant to the pain and suffering that still lingers in this country. Yet, I must say that I was proud of my fellow black peers of showing their support, because the question would there be this much reaction for a black student? remains valid. I am in no way excusing the situation or trying to be disrespectful. We must all stand together through trials and tribulations, no matter what background, color, etc. I pray for peace, love, and happiness and that the Lord brings Hannah home.
