AWESOME GOD __________________ Psalm 66:5 Come and see the works of God ;He is awesome in his doing toward the sons of men. The word awesome is tossed around a lot these days, thus as true believers we have to make that our prime concern. Come to think of it, talk about cars, movies, songs, or food ;and there you hear ,people are like OH MY GOD, THIS IS AWESOME(shouting with the whole of their energy which i guess is even capable of producing electricity pass 5000 megawatts for the nation Ghana).But beloved, being serious with God, if we are to call the stuff of this world as awesome and then call God also awesome, we diminish how truly awesome he is, dont you think so? Trying to flash back fond memories wayback in Opass some years ago, I vividly remember when I could get angry with one of my friends who liked using the word awesome in almost all his speeches, it became a rule between us, that the word awesome is reserved only for God. See my friend out there, me am here to make things plain to you, you know right? God our father in Heaven is far more than a companion who will fit into our buddy system or otherwise, a divine ATM responding to our impulses! Ayayaaa, am feeling something within me, see until we are stunned by the awesomeness of God, we might by chance be too impressed with ourselves and lose the joy of the privilege of belonging to an awesome God, my oo my! Todays episode is just mwah, isnt it? A look at the Psalms puts it all in singular perspective.One psalmist wrote :For the LORD MOST HIGH is awesome ;he is a great king over all the earth (psalm 47:2) .Another psalm declares say to God, How awesome are your works!.....e and see the works of God, ;he is awesome in his doing toward the sons of men.(Ps 66:3,5) My my my!!! Now, what could be more awesome than the love that compelled Christ to go to the cross for us? To the extent that his only father had to forsake him because he had taken upon him the stain of our uncountable sins,halleluyah! My brethren, just put him in his proper place as the only one who is truly awesome, and praise God for his awesome work in your life, good day!
