Aashoorah ...how many days to fast? It is permissible to fast only the day of Ashoorah (i.e., 10th Muharram) on its own, ...but it is better to fast a day before it or a day after it because to add a day is the Sunnah! So, you can either fast; • 9th and 10th of Muharram, • or 10th and 11th of Muharram ...or you can fast all three days; - i.e. 9th, 10th and 11th of Muharram.
