Abby picked her child off the angel tree tonight and did her shopping. She picked an 8 year old little girl and bought her the things on her list she asked for and then added some things that she would like to get. She almost stayed in her budget and was so happy and proud of her shopping for a little girl that might not get anything for Christmas. Then the question: Why wouldnt Santa bring these little kids (and there were LOTS left on the tree) presents? Do they live in an orphanage? Can we go to the orphanage and take them stuff? I stammered and wasnt able to come up with an acceptable answer as to why Santa wouldnt bring gifts to children who dont have as much as she does. She said, well Im sure youll think about it for a while then let me know. But the cashiers and others made a fuss over telling her how good her selections were and what a good job she did with her budget and how excited the little girl was going to be to get a new pink bike for Christmas. She got her a bike, a dressy outfit, a pair of sparkly jeans and a top, a pair of shoes, nail polish, lip gloss and a girls make up kit, some books, hair accessories, bath stuff, a fluffy throw and a couple more things I think. It was a good evening.
