About 4 months ago today, I found myself in the SPCA alongside my fiancee signing papers to bring home the sweetest little girl Ive ever known. She has brought more joy and laughter into this home than any other animal Ive come across. Her name is Harper, and shes my pit bull. Harper came from a broken past, where she was not in a home that loved her or even cared for her. While Ive never considered myself an advocate for anything, I believe in being a voice for the voiceless. Educate yourselves. The problem is not in the breed, but in the handler. I can honestly say that for awhile, I was against owning a dog that had such a bad reputation. While its been a struggle to take Harper to certain parks, neighborhoods, and other places, I wouldnt change any of it for the world. Harper, I could not be prouder than I am now that you found us and made me your rescue mama. You have brought so much sunshine to my life and the lives of everyone around you, including our other sweet pit, Bullet. Dont discriminate, Dont bully my breed. Mark Birney
