About 6:30, I heard something hit either the window or the siding outside...new right away what it was....I opened the door and there was a yellow and black bird laying on its back with its beak opened...touched it with a broom and it rolled over on its side...tried again, rolled over on its other side..sprinkled a little water on it and it got to its belly and stayed that way...put some bread crumbs by it..nothing..put a bottle cap with water next to it and it got up and walked away...and then just stood there...since there were other birds by the tree, I threw more bread crumbs down by the bird and once the other birds came over, the bird got up and and got on the step and then went into the holly tree...thank goodness it got off the ground....
