About CBC Challenge Camps Camping is an outdoor recreational activity. The partici-pants (known as campers) leave urban areas, their homes , or civilization and enjoy nature while spending one or sev-eral nights outdoors, usually at a campsite. Camping may involve the use of a tent, cabin, a primitive structure, or no shelter at all. A few of the main aims of camping is to bond with nature, learn how to appreciate simplicity and depend on themselves to fulfill their basic needs. Camping teaches collaboration, teamwork and creates a strong bond between the campers. What is Camping? Accordingly, we strive to create experi-ences for our students that would further develop their character. Each camp theme revolves around a character trait that we would like to further develop in CBCians. Last camp the theme was success and campers learnt that it takes teamwork and effort to finish the hike successfully. The theme of this camp is perseverance. Through a vari-ety of different activities and sessions, students will learn the importance of never giving up and doing their best over and over until they are successful. Accordingly, the main activity we chose for CBC Challenge Camp II is “Sand-Boarding”. They say the happiest place on Earth is Disney Land. They’re Wrong! It’s the CBC Camp. Session One: Perseverance “Perseverance steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.” At this day and age perseverance is a trait that is diminishing; especially in new generations. Accordingly Mr. Mohamed Adel; a successful motivational speaker, will talk to the kids about the importance of perseverance, how to persevere as well as show them success stories about perseverance. Activity: Sand-boarding Enjoyed since the times of the Ancient Egyptians, and revived in the 1940s, Sand-boarding is combination of snowboarding, surfing, and skating, only its on the sand dunes instead of the wave, snow, or streets. Sand-boarding is built on the idea of perseverance; in order to successfully surf the dunes you have to be willing to pick your self up after falling over and over again. Sandboarding is a safe activity, however, sometimes it might result in some scrapes from the sand. The trip is planned by “Wagihov Trips” and will include transportation by Jeeps, sand-boarding equipment and training, A BBQ and salad buffet and activities such as Volley ball and football.
