About PAN Permanent Account Number (PAN) Card is a photo Identity Card that carries 10 digits alphanumeric Unique Number for every card holder. It is issued by Ministry of Finance (Government of India) and it can be used as Photo Identity to opening Bank Account, to get Passport, travel in train with e-ticket etc. Uses of PAN PAN is mandatory for these activities: Filing of Income Tax (IT) return Opening Demat Account to buy and sell Share Withdrawing or deposit or amount transfer of 50,000 or more from one Bank account to another To get the TDS (Tax Deduction at Source) amount back Eligibility Any individual, firm, joint venture can apply for PAN Card. For this, there is no any minimum and maximum age limit. Required documents to applying for PAN Good quality passport size color photo Demand draft/ Cheque of amount Rs 105 as fee Xerox copy of proof of identity Xerox copy of proof of address Attach any one document from the both list: For Proof of identity 1. School leaving certificate 2. Matriculation certificate 3. Degree of a recognized educational institution 4. Depository account statement 5. Credit card statement 6. Certificate of identity signed by Member of Parliament or Member of Legislative Assembly or Municipal Councilor or Gazetted Officer. For Proof of Address 1. Electricity bill 2. Telephone bill 3. Depository account statement 4. Credit card statement 5. Bank account statement/bank pass book 6. Rent receipt 7. Employer certificate 8. Passport 9. Voters Identity card 0. Property tax assessment order 1. Driving License 2. Ration card 3. Certificate of address signed by Member of Parliament or Member of Legislative Assembly or Municipal Councilor or Gazetted Officer. Note: Documents submitted as proof of address for serial numbers 1 to 7 should not be more than six months old from the date of application. Fee for PAN Card and payment process The fee for processing PAN application is Rs 105/- Fee can paid through Demand Draft, Cheque or Credit Card Demand Draft/ Cheque should be drawn in favour of- NSDL- PAN Demand draft shall be payable at Mumbai and the Name and acknowledgment number should be mentioned on the reverse of the demand draft Applicants making payment by cheque shall deposit a local cheque (drawn on any bank) with any HDFC Bank branch across the country (except Dahej). If you don’t have office address then you can use your other address for this purpose After that submit the form Check whether all entered information is correct or not.
