About Tom Hamilton One of the nicest guys in show business, Tom Hamilton, holds down the low end in the hard rock/blues rock band Aerosmith and has even co-written 2 of their greatest hits: Sweet Emotion and Janies Got a Gun. This hard rockin’ bass wielding musician was born Thomas William Hamilton, on December 31, 1951 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The first time Tom picked up an instrument, he was around 12 years old, and influenced by his older brother Scott. Although he originally started out playing guitar he soon ditched his six-stringed instrument in favour of its four-stringed and slightly bigger brother – the bass guitar. Before joining up with Steven taylor, Ray Tabano and Brad Whitford, Tom played with soon-to-be Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry in a couple of bands, one of witch was simply called “The Jam Band”. It wasn’t until 1970, during a gig with “The Jam Band” that the original Aerosmith lineup fully assembled by teaming up with Joey Kramer as the final member. Referred to as “America’s Greatest Rock and Roll Band” and “The Bad Boys from Boston”, Aerosmith has come to be one of the best selling American rock bands, having sold more than 150 million albums worldwide. Their repertoire holds a vast psychedelic palette of award winning records – their latest album being the “Music from Another Dimension” album that was released on November 6, 2012. Tom Hamilton holds a very special arsenal of bass guitars. His first ever instrument was a Fender Precision and throughout his career in Aerosmith the Fender Jazz Bass, a modified 51 Fender Precision Bass with double pickups, Music Man, Gibson Thunderbird and a variety of the Rodger Sadowsky bass guitar models have all been a part of his personal instrumental wardrobe - just to name a few. When touring with Aerosmith, the Stereo Chorus pedal and the G-Major 2 multi effect processor are holding very special places in Tom’s Bass rig. His personal bass tech Aidan Mullen praises these very products as the best sounding, most versatile and most reliable tools on the market: “The TC folks have always been there for me and I try to be there for them – great sounding stuff!”. tcelectronic/tom-hamilton/ https://youtube/watch?v=8Fx0h66g778
