Description As most of our family and friends know, our family is passionate about our work and time in Guatemala. With the support and encouragement of my husband Jean Guibault and son Tristan, Kahleah Guibault and I are moving to Antigua, Guatemala in October for at least a year to increase and broaden our involvement in the needs of children in care as well as other exciting projects! This is a family project. Our work will be so much easier from Guatemala. We have a desire and need to do more in Guatemala and would like to do what we do well, with more people! Having Kahleah and her experience (22, adoptee, international development/psychology student, humanitarian, tri-lingual service trip facilitator and leader, my daughter) and Chus (20, Guatemalan, grew up in care, bilingual, writer, translator, leader, soccer player, my newest son) and Nestor (23, Guatemalan, grew up in care, reunited, bilingual, educated in the US, translator, humanitarian, soccer player, leader). I have a lot of experience as well! I have facilitated and led 400 people to Guatemala. We want to continue to share our unique connections in Guatemala and plan very personalized itineraries and groups. We want to introduce more people to the needs of children and families. Community development. The adventure of Guatemala. Everything! We have long term plans for kids aging out of care.... Long term goals. We invite our village to join us. We are renting a house in the heart of Antigua starting October 1st! The house has a cute, private ground level suite/vacation rental as well as 1-2 guestroom rentals in the main house for family or friends who would like our company! These accommodations will be available starting the second week in October. Kahleah, Chus Alexander Lopez (and soon Nestor R. Flores) and I will be partnering with our various tried and true service providers as well as trusted non-profits in Guatemala and are planning very personalized, guided travel experiences in Guatemala for our friends, family, humanitarian, adoption, education, adventure and corporate communities. Services in English, French and Spanish. Jean will be taking care of business mostly from Canada but both Jean and Tristan will be making trips to join us. We are calling our new venture “OUR Guatemala”. We look forward to working with individuals, families, groups, schools, churches and teams!
