About two years ago Benson Brewery started looking into Amphorae inspired by Brasserie Cantillon in Brussels. Needless to say we were intrigued so we did some research and decided to give it a shot here in the States. To create these giant pots we reached out to fellow home-brewer and Potter, Dan Toberer from Hot Shops Art Center. After going back and forth on design Dan made several 35-45 gallon Amphorae with Endicott, Nebraska clay. We would like to thank Dan for the 100s of hours of effort he spent making these beautiful vessels. There is still a lot of uncertainty aging beer in Amphorae but that being said this is a special day at Benson Brewery and we are excited to see whats next as we get this very unique and rare brewing program underway!
