Abraham had two sons, one was a problem child and the other was a promised child. The problem child was the brain storm of Abraham and Sarah it was their plan to help God bring about God’s plan for them to have a son. Human reasoning often brings emotional pain and confusion into our lives. James speaks of this when he says “This wisdom descends not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.” The child of promise takes longer and is brought about by the working of the Spirit and the exercise of faith in our lives. To receive a child of promise also requires patience to wait on God’s timing. The choice is clear you can take a short cut and end up with a problem child or you can let the Spirit of God flow throw your life exercising faith and patience and receive a promised child. Chose the promised child. Gal. 4:22-23 22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. 23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.
