Abriana was taken off the CPAP at 8:45am today & has been great since. She has had 3 Bradys & 3desats in the last 24hours & seems like a completely different baby. She was weighed last night with her cpap on & she now weighs 4lbs 15oz. She feels like she is actually heavier than Avionna now. Lol. I wasnt too impressed going in at 6pm tonight (9hours after the cpap came off) & seeing not only snot all over her face again (not as bad as yesterday, but still there is no reason it couldnt have been cleaned up cuz it was handle time). Oh and her nurse was hooking up her feed & was gonna start it without checking her NG tube. Why is this a big deal? She (Abriana) had pulled the tube out and left the tape behind. When I pointed it out to the nurse she not so gently pulled the tape off her face instead of using warm water or the adhesive remover. I swear its getting harder and harder to see this stuff and not lose it. I just keep reminding myself shell be out soon. On the up side I got to cuddle with her for several hours, in the horrible gowns, mask & gloves that come with droplet precautions. I sang to her, snuggled into her & held her close while she slept. Every time my breathing would get get unnoticeable or my murmur would cause my heart to skip a beat she would cry out. I would kiss her head, whisper it was ok & shed smile and calm back down. My beautiful baby girl. As I write this Avionna is snuggled with me holding onto my shirt right. God I love these girls, I love all my kids. Heres praying for a good night & a speedy transfer to the other hospital ~Melissa (mommy)
