Absolutely disgusted at the NIWFAs decision to hold the senior womens IFA cup final at 2.30pm on a Monday (25th) Firstly, every game this year has been played at 730pm on a Monday night which has seen a huge increase in spectators & great coverage for the womens game. Secondly, there has been no thought for the players (including myself) who are in employment, aswell as the vast amount of supporters, parents & coaches who would have to sacrifice a full days working wages in order for this game to go ahead. This decision is a slap in the face for both teams & the womens football community in general; the Niwfa need to understand the years, months & weeks of hard work that has been put in for a game like this.. Thirdly, Some players never get an opportunity to play in a cup final; for some, it is a dream they have wanted since putting on a pair of boots! & to give a player an ultimatum of choosing between their career & the game they love is just simply too hard to ask.. On a personal level, As a result of the kick off time, playing at 230 has destroyed my chance of playing in a cup final, due to career commitments.. There are several players & coaching staff is a similar position & at NCLFC we play as a team or dont play at all.
