Absolutely heart wrenching to hear of attack on Army Public school, Warsak Road, Peshawar. Around a hundred students have been killed in attack by militants in response to military operation Zarb-e-Azab against them in North Waziristan. It is very important at such a critical juncture in the country when we are fighting a war against militancy that lives of children are not politicized. Civil and military institutions must work together on stringent prevention mechanisms against militant attacks, and also must work together in the aftermath of this catastrophe. Why must these children have to suffer? Why should civilians have to live in constant fear? No time to blame one another. Children are dying due to the politics of egomaniac militants, politicians, and generals. Time to realize this and work towards demilitarisation of our society; literally, as well as of the mindset.
